More Bad News For Prescott

Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott's credibility to the masses slid further as shown in a recent survey. The Populus poll done for the Times showed that some 70 percent of voters want him to quit, with 59 percent of Labour voters thinking the same.

The latest controversy to hit Prescott is believed to be the main reason why majority of the public wants him out of the office.

Prescott is currently under a full Parliamentary probe following his relationship with casino mogul Philip Anschutz. Prescott has met up with Anschutz in 7 undisclosed meeting which had his critics thinking that the meetings were a conflict of interest. Prescott is also being accused of breaking Ministerial codes by accepting hospitality and gifts.

Anschutz is the owner of the Millennuim Dome and is bidding for it to become Britain's first super casino.

The act seems to have been the final straw, as a mere 23 percent of the public and 37 percent of Labour voters believe that he has not done anything wrong.

Prime Minister Tony Blair also got his share of misfortune as the number of people who wants him out by the end of this year closed at 49 percent.

The populus poll interviewed 1,512 people between July 7 and July 9.
